App-connect activation key and DVD player

Hi all, I bought a 67 plate T6 on Saturday and am slowly figuring out how everything works. I have an iPod that I use in my Range Rover but for some reason it won't work in the VW? Is this something to do with the App connect or am I missing something? If I go to the app connect menu it says "activation key required consult dealer " . Also is there a way to play DVDs through the head unit? I spend hours sat waiting for my other half and it was a bonus of my previous cars that I could watch DVDs while waiting

Forgot to mention, I have the head unit with 4 buttons on each side and sat nav

Your unit (Discover Media) is not able to playback videos from CD/DVD or SD card.
You can only stream videos from a device connected to USB port via Mirror Link/Android Auto/Car Play.

App Connect activation

Resurrecting an old thread here.... Is it possible to connect your car to the web via ‘car net’ and then activate app connect with a code that way somehow?!

I can unlock the unit so app connect works and update the maps and POIs with the speed cameras etc

So you have your unit patched already?

no, not yet. Am looking at videos and have ODBeleven pro, so can access dev mode via that

Thanks everyone. Looks like DVDs are a no no . Will pm Dav-tec about getting nav and app connect sorted

Dav-Tech unlocked my Discover Media, updated maps , places of interest and added speed cams. Top service I'd highly recommend A1.
