Anyone put hinges on the VanX top dash speaker console for a T6 ?
Looks like it could make a tidy lid, and much cheaper than the offical VW dash storage lid.

Hi I've fitted the vanx center speaker console, absolutely no way of hinging it as firstly you have very limited room after you have installed speakers... About 20mm tops, second point is the unit needs to clip into the back of the dash and this holds the unit in place along with a couple of screws in the front. It's a great unit, looks like a standard vw part, great if you have a dsp to set up as a front center speaker!

I've bought the VAN-X speaker console and very nice it is too.
I'll have a look at fitting a hinge, so the console is a lid to hidden storage.
Or I'll fit it properly, expensive way of covering up the hole but I really dont like it

Can Anyone suggest if I could modify the Van x speaker lid to just a hinged cover? I' would pay the £64 if can hide this ridiculous dust collector. The design has Ford transit design written all over it.Could I hollow out the underside of the speaker unit and use the lid??

Is it straight forward to install the speaker? Is the sound any good?
