Any idea why this happens?

Most likely a small crack in the unit, or moisture that has been trapped when a bulb was changed...

Cant see any cracks, will pull it to pieces later and try drying it. You'd think the heat off the lights or sun would dry it out but it never changes.

Moisture will not go if it is sealed well, remove bulb and let it stand on z hot day, then refit..

Ah, good to know. I changed a bulb in my girlfriends Polo and since had moisture in it. Will loosen it off a bit then.

once its in the heat of the light/sunshine will just cause it to evaporate then it will condense again.

like a little micro climate inside the light|!

warm light with hair dryer with bulb out, carefully, or remove and put in airing cupboard etc..
