All in vs Basics first

If I go with adding windows to a panel van then sound deaden/insulate and carpet, how much of that is then a waste or problematic with pushing forward with pop-up roof and full units in a years time? Is there a way I can just do the basics and minimize the waste for future options? Do the roof as a seperate removable panel type of thing. Speaking to a couple of conversion companies they prefer it to be a shell if they are fitting kitchen and roof. Just find myself rushing in this way but also don't want to spend a couple of thousand taking it away from a bare panel van and largely wasting that cash.

It's not a waste, windows and sound deadening is an ideal first job.

If you do the carpet and insulation it can just make it more tricky running wires and seeing where to attach things so I'd hold off them bits.

They wanted windows out to do the carpets was the ideal scenario. Tucking it into the U trim isn't always reliable was their line as you cn get some initial shrinkage. Planning on doing the floor anyway as have a sliding bed on the way. Just be nice to have it looking tidy for the first year until I am 100% what I want..... and who to do it.

I wouldn't worry about that, I got my carpet pretty neat round my windows and it was the first time doing it! I'm sure you'll have some blinds or curtains anyway so if it's 0.5mm out it won't matter?
