Aftermarket Warranty

Hi all,

My van is an early 2016 model and has long since had the factory 3 year warranty expire. I bought it just over 3 months ago and the supplier included a simple 3 month warranty which has now expired.

I'm now on the hunt for an aftermarket warranty, which is something I've not done on any other vehicle of mine so I'll be spending a bit of time researching this on the net. Whilst I go off and do that I'm hoping some of you might share your knowledge on the subject, especially anyone who has purchased an aftermarket, non VW warranty for their T6.

I've used the forum search and found lots of threads and posts referring to the standard VW warranty and the VW extended warranty, but as I am well outside the original 3 year VW warranty period I don't think any are relevant to my situation, but I'm happy to be corrected.

hmmm, no nothing about that one. I would question whether it would not cost the earth and whether you might be better off putting £50 quid a month away in the savings to cover any issues that you might come up against... I doubt you'll find a 1 or 2 year warranty for a good price. might be wrong...

I'm in the middle of trying to source extra warranty as mine run out 1/1/20 The local VW dealer are trying to sell me a Crystal Clear warranty £359.00 with £50.00 excess but, the first thing I asked if it would be covered was the DAB aerial issues and he claimed yes no problem that would be covered but when checking the paper-work this morning it's excluded! When you read all the exclusions I am now having serious doubts about taking it on especially as the van will do less than 5K this year.
