Aftermarket Reversing Camera wiring

Hi, I have a rear view mirror reverse camera that came with my T6 shuttle.

The wire from the camera is connected to the mirror, but doesn't seem to work at all.

The camera is mounted on the tailgate and wires run into the rear headliner, where there seems to be a small amount of green and white wire which seem to have been cut or not connected to anything.

Is there something missing here, should these be connected to something, possibly live and rear light for trigger/feed?

I deep dived...

Okay it's marketed as a self dimming rear view mirror. It apparently dims down way better than other dimming mirrors. It's not an 'always on' rear view camera from what I can gather. The cable fed from the back of the mirror goes to the rear of the van and is plugged in to 'a camera' with the yellow plugs - no camera included in the kits advertised from what I can tell.



So when in place and connected to the camera via the yellow plug the red power wire goes to left (near side) light cluster and should be spliced in to the reverse light wire. Then when you engage reverse, there's a little screen appears on the mirror to help you reverse. See below.

My camera doesn't seem to have the yellow plug though and seems to just be the black wire which enters the rear headliner to this point, which is clothed taped and has this grey/silver sticker.

If you can see closely there is a white on the left and tiny bit of green wire on the right, so would be useful to know if anyone else has this same camera wire and if they are connected somewhere.

I've attached one more picture from inside the headliner at the rear, which shows there is one more block the camera wire goes into, but still no yellow connection like in the kits linked.

Also checked my rear light clusters for any sign of wire going to the camera, but nothing else connected to rear lights apart from parking sensors.

I dont see any obvious way that this camera gets powered up.
