Aftermarket Fog light kit issue

Morning all after a bit of advice regarding the aftermarket travel-in-lite fog light kit with auto headlight switch.

So they’re installed and they work great my only issue is when the auto headlights come on it also turns on the front fogs.

When I turn headlights on manually the fogs stay off unless I switch them on which is correct.

Is there a way to stop these fog lights auto turning on?

I’ve contacted travel-in-lite but no response,

TIA

Mark

No idea how the kit looks like but most likely the switch is some badly made Chinese rip off hence the activation of both. There’s loads of decent quality aftermarket switches available on auto doc site if you don’t want to spend too much on original. Bought them before and never had any issues. Just search by the part number for your van.

Did you get this sorted as mine are the same from travel-in-lite.
Bit of weird one if I’m honest maybe a loose connection within the unit itself, it rectified itself when I stripped all the dash down when I replaced the steering wheel and wired in the cruise control, it was either that or something I did when coding

@stan-the-man Standard switches don't work as they don't have the light sensor on them. After market switches either have sensor on a wire or built into the switch. I'll have to mess with vcds and see if any options to be done on it.

What light sensor? None of the switches ever had only Chinese rubbish.
I’m talking about proper aftermarket switches based one oem quality not some Chinese ones you get on eBay. Proper companies make them like Borsehung or Vemo.

Vcds has nothing to do with light switch or fog light setting on it. Can you post the link for kit in question or pics of what it contains in the package?

This is the one of the kits i have, maybe is Chinese but not from Ebay.

Vcds and charista can change settings on the fog. I've read on here I can. Maybe not what I want though.

@stan-the-man I might try an original switch then from one that comes into work.
By the way the fogs on front are aftermarket too. They are travelinlite full kit. Also I have come home lights programmed. Been on autodoc and there are many options. Mine is blue motion switch (small connector).

I also don't have rain sense windscreen so no built in sensor on the van.
So this is why, most people buy the aftermarket with a sensor.

This is kit I fitted.

@Craig. Am I right in saying i have to have aftermarket auto switch with sensor if I don't have rain sense screen. Plus the fault I'm having with the fogs coming on with auto headlamps us this a side effect of the switch.
Cheers.

Looks like it’s relay operated fog light setup. Vcds won’t have any bearing on it at all if that’s the case.
Only thing you can do with fogs and vcds is activate cornering lights if they are wired oem way via bcm. If that setup doesn’t connect to bcm in any way you won’t be able to do anything with vcds. Does that headlight switch has anything hard wired to it? Or the light sensor is just connected to it via adapter plugs?
In T6 headlight switch with auto lights and front and rear fogs according to Etka would be 3C8941431A XSH that’s with brushed chrome knob.

It just plugs in to the original plug. The one I have installed at moment has the sensor built into the switch doing away with wired sensor. Only problem i find with it is because it's on the switch it comes on more as it's darker where the switch is.
I was going to get the oem loom for the fogs from kufatec. That would also give me corning lights but I not really bothered with them. Thanks

Wished i'd have wired our lights through the bcm instead of stand alone travelinlite jobbies .
And those brushed chrome switches are awful

Yes, no sensor on the windscreen means it's aftermarket and won't be able to do anything with it via diagnostics
