ABS light on

Just collected a 2017 T6 today. About 45k on the clock. Half way home the ABS light came on & cruise control seemed to stop working at the same time. I guess it is a faulty ABS/esp sensor? I understand they often give trouble. Would this cause cruise to stop working?

Funny enough, mine is a 67plate and done about the same miles...anbd I've replaced both rear sensors within 1000miles of each other. Its a doddle of a job, 1 cap head bolt, grab the sensor with something grippy (i used pipe grips) and a small screwdriver under the mounting face to provide a little extra force. it took about 15mins all in including taking the wheel off.

Depending on where/how you bought it and if you have any warrenty will determine how to proceed, but dont let it put you off your new vehicle!

You were “half way” home, I’d have turned round and gone straight back! Dealer purchase?

Which sensors did you buy? Seems a bewildering choice from £10 to £150 each. One site mentions active or passive sensors.

Journey was about 300 miles so not so easy to pop back. I have a warranty so will probably use that if necessary. Looks like a relatively easy fix so might try DIY.

I ended up picking up 4 Febi Bilstein from Parts In Motion. a shade over £40 for the 4 and german quality so seemed like a good comprimise.

Febi PNs for refference were:

Right - 23822
Left - 23824

Just the rears fitted for now, but got the other couple sitting here just in case the fronts pack up
