Hi I have seen a T6 65 plate bitdi
Now my question is will this have the early engine being a 65 plate same as the 5.1 with all the problems?
It’s done 100000 miles and is quite cheap,I thought t6 bitdi where 198 bhp,
Any thoughts.
This looking for a t6 is harder than buying a Cosworth lol

Beware of the 180bitdi. On the euro 5 (65 plate) this is the fitted engine. We’ve done quite a few engine replacements on these as have VW for excess oil consumption. I would look elsewhere unless it has had an engine replaced.

@Firthster, CFCA (180ps) engine with RevD EGR unit from new is a safe bet. But you’d need to be sure the EGR unit has not been upgraded.

Mmm I’ve gone on that long about a transporter to the other half,
That if it broke down I’d probably have to live in the van,
Is it really worth the chance????
Cheap enough though

Check with VW to see if there is history of an EGR replacement.

@DXX. Is that in general or for a particular vehicle? Either would require a very uncharacteristic degree of honesty from VW if the correct answer was anything but a negative.

If its a CFCA engine you need to be sure that it has been built from new with a Rev D EGR cooler, not an issue if it’s had a replacement.
If it was built with an earlier revision EGR cooler don’t touch it.
Have a read of the link I posted earlier plus other content on the Forum.
I have a Euro5, 16 plate CFCA, registered in May 2016, no issues, very reliable and no Adblue related faff. Note that if you live in or visit restricted environmental zones you might want to go Euro6.

Thanks for the reply’s
I’m buying for long term ownership,
Towing the caravan to France, family ,dog work etc,
I live out side Manchester but that might become a problem further down the line with euro 5-6.charges coming in,
I’d buy the edition with 80000 miles if my head let me.
I think I need to stop looking for a few months

Giving the way air travel is opening up and winter not too far away there is a possibility that van prices will crash, waiting might be a wise thing.

Cheers DXX
I think you could be right.
My heart says f… it my head says your paying to much for a van,

every van I see is a compromise on 1 thing or another.
Colour mileage seats there is always something.
I can’t even buy stuff for fear it may already be fitted lol

To add to my transporter envoy I’m currently in Cornwall at the min.
And got to say I think bamboo green has overtaken blackberry as my favourite colour
