Hi.
Im getting some new wheels on a t32 kombi. Having 9j front et35 and fitting 265/40/20. On the back im having 10.5j et42 but am concerned fitting the same size tyre. Sure it will look great with stretch but could i run a 275/40/20 just on the rear for a little more rim protection? Van is lowered on eibach coilovers buy not slammed. Will 275/40s rub on the rear arch or inside???

I run 265/40 on 10” wide rears and there’s a little stretch on them, I would expect 275/40 on a 10.5” wide rim to fit pretty much the same. It’s unlikely to give you any rim protection, but shouldn’t rub. I previously ran 275/40 tyres on the rear of my van when it was lowered 50mm and didn’t have any rubbing at the back so you should be OK there.

Could just run the same width rim on the rear as the front then then the tyres will look the same and offer rim protection.
That's what I have.
I personally like the look of matching even stretch/protection.
