256gb memory card in discover media unit

Just bought a 256gb SD card off Amazon and discover media tells me there is no playable content on despite me putting a few test albums on in AAC format. Can anyone shed light on this as my manual seems to say 256gb and AAC are compatible. It's formatted from windows 10 so I'm guessing it's NTFS which is also listed as compatible.

You don't have to put the media in a folder do you? Come across that odd requirement a couple times in past, though I've no experience with VW units

I have a 128gb card in my headunit and cant play anything. I have a few different file types on the card as well.
I wonder if there is a 64gb limit?

64gb definitely works OK.

Don’t memory cards have a class factor to them? Might be that causing you issues?
