Hi, just throwing this out there. My 2014 180 dsg starting using oil during its first year from new, topping up between servicing. I do around 32000 a year. Vw said it was well within manufacturers tolerances. Gradually worse and worse over next two years. 100000 miles later, started smoking.
Out of warranty and getting advice from different people saying possible turbo etc. I'm an engineer by trade and work in power generation. Decided to strip engine, never seen a small engine with so much wear and carbon build up. Pistons rings seized up, camshaft worn out, liners with big wear lip, valve guides worn out. Anyway, a new engine later, £4500 outta pocket!!!!!
