17” Banding and tyres for T32

Hi all,
My bus is currently sitting on 20” 10 & 10.5j alloys and low profiles with 60mm drop, great on a smooth road but harsh everywhere else!!

I’m thinking of going back to original 17” 7j steels but get them banded out to either 8&8.5 or 9&9.5.

Anyone with experience of this and what size tyres would work?
