My 2018 t6 highline 150bhp has recently failed and is going back to the dealer, they have offered a newer 2019 t6 highline at no cost to me but its a 102bhp 5 speed box,

Is there much difference between the two? Will I miss the 6th gear?

Thanks
Chris

Sorry for the repeat post but trying in the engine group and for some reason it keeps crashing and putting large gaps in between?

I personally wouldn't want a five speed box, partly because I do a fair bit of motorway mileage but also because the 5 speed box isn't as strong as the 6 speed box.

I have a 150bhp bi turbo on a LWB with 7 speed auto, cruises motorways at 60 at 1500-1600 revs returning 34-36mpg. Personally would never go back to manual.
You appreciate the horse power when loaded or towing. If any of that helps.

@Carnut2chris They may be able to remap it, but the weak link is the 5 speed gearbox. There are plenty of topics about it on this forum.

Dubber 36.
Log book says 132KW which I believe equates to 150BHP, if not would be well pleased with 180BHP. or even 205, either way has never been stressed or over worked.

So a 180 then.

The reason I questioned it was because the 150 is not bi-turbo.

So, they’re offering you a significantly lower spec van that just happens to be a year younger. I wouldn’t accept it if I was made that offer

So it’s a 180ps CFCA, what happened to cause it to be rejected?

In fairness to the dealer they have been nothing but great, they have paid all my independent garage costs, my tow charge where I broke down and more

They are trying to get me up and running again but as my campervan was to my spec and not one built they are trying to offer a few different vans for me and then convert to my spec as they know I'm without a van.

They are putting extras into the build like microwave, tvs etc.

I just wanted to find out a bit more about 102bhp vs 140bhp as there seams to be quite a lot for sale on all dealer sites.

102 bhp is significantly less than a 150 bhp. The 5-speed gearbox is quite weak, I believe.

I`d ask them to source the same spec vehicle from another dealer. You`re entitled to like for like surely.

I have a 102 5 speed and I'm ok with it.
It's a camper and it's a van not a performance car.
I had a polo GTi before the van and a Toyota GT 86 before that now I have a van and drive like it's a van.
When I want more power to use I'll switch back to a car...
