Buying a T6 with high mileage

Hi Guys, I'm looking to buy a June 2017 204 DSG Shuttle but it has 83,000 on the clock? Initially I dismissed this van due to the mileage but I'm now thinking it may not be so bad? Any thoughts on this and other things I should be looking out for? Should it of had a cambelt change and how often...

RAC Van - what do the 2 batteries do?

Apologies if this seems a daft question, completely new to this, as I read the diagram, the main battery starts the van and the auxiliary battery does everything else, so does that mean you can't dispense with the auxiliary without a mahoosive rewire

RAC - wiring and aux battery!

Hi all, new to the group and my ex-RAC T6! I've taken out lots of the wiring out the back and the Junction box from under the passenger seat. Was expecting to be able to take out the extra battery too, but after seeing it feeds some of the VW loom and after a little bit of reading on here it...

RAC Big Orange B’stard - stereo update

Hi Folks, Newbie here, who has just taken ownership of a 2018 ex RAC T6. I was wondering if there is anything that I can do to upgrade the existing stereo via firmware/software, or do I install the Road Angel DAB unit that I bought for a previous van? Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Towing electrics ex RAC

Two questions please. Where does the electrics run from the tow bar socket? I can see it goes into bumper. Does it then join the original loom and run up to the relay under the passenger seat? Is it possible to have a passenger double seat swivel whilst maintaining tow bar electrics?

Ex RAC suspension needs changing urgently!

I've just bought an ex rac t6. I've been told the rac t32s have uprated Suspension. Not sure if that's springs and dampers. The ride is awful. Very boaty and the steering seems really light. It's going to be a work van but won't be carrying no more than 100kgs at time. I'd like it a bit lower...

    T6 engine swap CXH 2017 to 2020

I’ve recently bought my first Transporter and quickly found myself waist deep in a project. The Transporter in question is a 2017 ex-RAC SWB T32 (with 2017 2.0 tdi CXH engine), which I bought from a car auction site as a non-runner; upon delivery I found several holes in the side of the block...

Speed limited ex-RAC Van (it's not the ECU!)

Hello hello! We have recently bought a ex-RAC van and sent it into the workshop for a couple of things. Whilst it was there we asked them to remove the speed limiter, ie. remap the ECU. Unfortunately it has not worked. The workshop is adamant that it is not ECU related now and that there must be...

Hi everyone, new to the forum. Plan on buying an RAC Van from a van centre in south wales next week. £17500 inc VAT with 110,000 miles on the clock. Ex RAC Van, I'm going to log my progress here as it is turned into a campervan.

We picked up our ex RAC van yesterday in Wales and bought it to Cornwall. The Auxiliary battery overheated and started to vent about 66 miles from home, I didn't have tools with me but managed to wiggle a fused link (green arrow) until a nut came loose and I was able to disconnect the thick...
