Windscreen wash hose split

Hi,

Went to wash the windscreen yesterday and I noticed a squirt a the bonnet left corner and nothing on the windscreen.

Think the convoluted tube has split!

Quick question, is there a flexible rubber hose inside, or is it just the convoluted tube, also, biggest question, how yo fix this?

Any thoughts or recommendations?

It's just a hard plastic tube, I just taped mine up with self amalgamating tape which sorted it.
On my last T5 it was badly split so I cut the tube in half then used a joining piece I bought from eBay

No, there’s no tube inside.

I’m sure everyone will have their own version of a fix, but I’ve found a good way is some 3/4mm rubber vacuum hose, pushed over will some brake cleaner spray to lubricate.

When the brake cleaner evaporates, the pipe and hose have a nice tight fit.

Hairspray works as a lube, evaporates quickly, isnt chemically aggressive against materials. Problem is Im a chromey so have to borrow someone else's.

Use the old pipe as a pull through for the new one.

Fixed a split yesterday with https://ebay.us/m/YBIPQm and a bit of heat shrink after for good measure.

Use silicone or nitrile hose, not EPDM which is less resistant to just about everything.

I cut out the cracked bit and used a bit of the cloth covered fuel pipe and two cable ties. Probably didn't need the cable ties.
