Window fitting spacers

Hi.
OEM VW side windows have a bonded spacer on the back of the glass to ensure uniform fit of depth.
Anyone ever manufactured / included a similar spacer on an aftermarket window ?

You can see one in the pic below - basically a triangular piece of rubber. I can measure one to see if there is an alternate rubber profile you could use.

You can buy them as spare parts if that helps. When I got my windows the parts guy sold me a load of them too not knowing they already came with the windows. Not sure what I did with them.

I would think it’s to allow for the different rates of thermal expansion between glass and steel.

I think its so the operative on the production line can shove it in the hole and get it perfectly flush every time!
