THQ flush fit window query

Hi , looking for help from anyone who has the THQ flush windows fitted.

The smaller glass window has movement left to right by about 3-4mm , which I can move by hand from the outside . When the sliding door is closed , the smaller glass panel touches the larger outer glass panel (not a great sound)

So I have to re-centre the glass after closing the sliding door .

If possible would anyone with these widows be able to see if there's are the same ?

thanks.1000007260.jpg1000007259.jpg

Just had mine fitted and have the same problem. THQ advising it's a bad batch and replacements will be supplied. Lock/latch mechanism has far too much play for my liking. Did you resolve yours and if so how? Cheers.

I contacted THQ who seemed understanding on the phone and asked for a video , after sending the video I received a video of their own van doing the same thing from someone else at THQ . I was told that it had to be like this for the smaller window to be able to move and I had nothing to worry about as I've been sent the "newer" windows , as the "older" windows were too stiff and I had the better/newer version - and no one else had complained.

After using the van all weekend and hearing the two glass panes make contact every time when shutting the sliding door I contacted them again . I understand there may have to be some movement in the small pane of glass for the window to operate - but glass hitting glass and having to physically centre the smaller pane by hand wasn't acceptable.

To be fair they sent a replacement for the passenger side , I also have one fitted on the driver side (no sliding door) which has the same movement left to right - but stays in place due to no door opening/closing on that side.

The new one is still sitting in the box (van has been in the garage for repairs) it still has movement left to right - possibly not quite as loose as the first ones supplied though but hard to judge.

Never had a problem with items from THQ over numerous years , great service - but these windows & the fact I've got to remove / refit one has left me a bit peeved to say the least.

Hope you get it sorted.

Feel the same - for the cost and time spent (including the poor fitter who has to replace these), i expect better. Hoping the replacement driver's side is sufficiently robust to not rattle around. Tbh I'm considering having the sliding door glass replaced with a fixed pane and be done with it as I've no doubt if I leave it and it breaks it'll be at the most inconvenient time.

I'm sure I've heard that line recently on an ITV drama.

So just checked mine and yes, I can move it left and right and yes, the glass will then click either side, but when I open and close the small window it centers fine so during normal operation I dont have this issue. I think mine has been fitted 12 months now so maybe mine is the older stiff version but it's not stiff at all.

I've recently fitted two of these to my van. Overall, I'm really happy with them but the one thing the bothers me (but my mate laughed at me when I showed him) is when I shut the sliding door, the window moves and the gaps aren't equal. I always slide it back. The glass doesn't touch each other though!

Any updates on the flush windows please? I’d like to fit a couple just wondering if the movement in the windows rectified before purchasing??

Mine still move slightly when shutting the sliding door but it doesn't bother me too much. We've had some bad rain and no leaks.

Thanks, thinking about putting a fixed one in the door & put an opener on the driver side. At least ion leaks

I will just leave my 2p here, I don’t have these issues with mine. Had mine for over a year and they don’t move when closed

That’s great to hear. I’ve just posted this thread on this. I’m sure there’s hundreds that had no issues. As with most things you only when things go wrong, if there’s nothing to report people never mention it

Exactly why I’ve left a comment, people get put off when they only see the negatives. Love mine wish I put one in the sliding door aswell

I’ve considered a fixed one in the sliding door to avoid the moving slider issue, but ideally I prefer it to open. They’re not easy to take out if there’s any issues. I’ve come across these that are on preorder with built-in fly screens, seem like a good product great price but not tried and tested by the market yet.

Yeah I did see those a few weeks ago, hoping THQ bring out a some sort of solution so I can put a screen in without having to buy vanshades.
