Which low-mid range lithium battery?

And yeah in time can be used as a fast charge for a lithium battery (I do that with a Jackery).

Honestly if I was starting from scratch I'd go for a higher end power station (something that can output 1000w on 240v) first and then in time build in a more standard leisure battery set-up.

I was new to this idea this year and pretty much have as you described. 1000w Jackery, 105Ah LB which charges from the van only. I have a folding portable
200w solar panel to charge the Jackery. Van Interior lights run off LB along with USB charging. Portable fridge and anything else from Jackery (which can also be charged or maintained via elec. hook up if needs be).

Wow, that’s cheap. I paid that last year for an Eco-Worthy.

Mines the 280aH, and I’ve never really used it anger. Most it’s had me and Mrs went away on our own, few cups of tea, lights, phones charged. But we had a 800W oil filled radiator which I ran for a couple of hours each night and morning for 2 days.

Battery was at 56% when we un-pitched and set off home.

Went camping with the kids in the tent. So just Switch charging/ phones. Few kettle boils, but the cool box was on non-stop for 4 days (draws about 2A in eco-mode) and battery was mid 60s when we set off. We did do a couple of car journeys so it got some juice back, but only short ones.

I think if the 300ah one will fit that might be the way I go if no good then add solar later. We will not be using an inverter so only few LEDE interiar lights and the Dometic portable fridge.

What about this instead of CTEK D250SE Pardon our interruption...

Battery £10.00 cheaper than on Amazon Pardon our interruption...

Mines not under the seat, it’s under the drivers side rear window so will be under my kitchen unit when built.
It’s big, no way it will fit under the drivers seat. Would fit under a passenger double but then you can’t have, or I wouldn’t trust it anyway, under a swivel.
 
Just to update you, I decided to get an EcoFlow Delta 2 with the 800w alternator charger. Mainly due to time and simplicity. Really easy to install and can use it elsewhere.

I’ve not yet fully used it camping, but we’re likely to pop out for half hour drive here and there when we do, which I’m “hoping” will be enough to power the essentials for a long weekend.

I’ll see how it goes, I suppose I can always add another battery later on if needed. My only issue I see is if I get a diesel heater in the future.

Have a look at a Victron XS-50 charger, you can wind it right down on their wonderful app, it is quite small and runs cool in comparison to its smaller brothers. Prices have come down now.

Optimum charge rate for Lithium is C/3 where C is the capacity of the battery. So for a bog standard 100Ah battery, the optimal charging rate is 33A, any higher and you risk shortening the life of the battery. Obviously if you had a 150Ah battery then 50A charge would be spot on. It’s never straight forward.

Best to check the guide for the specific battery.

Mine is 100ah and says the optimum rate is 50A
 
As above, check your paperwork. My battery says between C/2 and 1C, which is technically impossible with what’s on the market!
