Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

@GUMY York YHA is really good as you say. Nice park The Homestead next door if you need a leg stretch or have a pooch.
I stayed a 2nd night in the car park of the Red Lion at Poppleton just off the A59, on the outskirts. Free overnight, quiet and lots of similar vans and motorhomes. Great food and beer

We’re staying at Wychnor Park, so we went to Derby for a mooch around, lots of tattoo parlours, lots of vape shops, one enterprising venue offered both and most of the rest of the town was Turkish barbers.
Left there and went to National Trust Calke Abbey to see the Christmas market and lights. Took this picture in the car park there.

If you are ever up near Derby (apologies if you are close by and know the area), just off Junction 29 is National Trust Hardwick Hall, the Old Hall and the Millers Ponds. We are ten minutes away and its a wonderful place to visit.

Where have I been in my van today?
To my mates tyre garage to get a puncture done.
2 screws in the fecker.
By coicidence, I had to get a puncture fixed in my Aud Q5 on Monday and they took out a 30mm screw. Shouldn't complain too much though - it was almost centre of the tread so easily repairable and almost unbelievably it's first puncture in the over 10 years that I've had it.

Same as mate. Can’t remember the last time I had a puncture.

Today went back to the birthplace of the Leisuredrive Vivante for the annual habitation checkup, all seems to be in working order. Had a discussion with them about our noisy toilet pump and while they don't do repairs to such fittings but usually refer you to the manufacturer service agents, because they knew that I have been working on the pump myself to keep it running they simply gave me a new pump to install next time I need to attend to it.

While there I saw their new Transitporter Vivante, very similar inside to the regular VW ones.

How much did they charge you for the pleasure Martin ?

A regular habitation check is £200, but they give you a 10% discount for booking a date before January as they aren't as busy before new year. Took around 2 hours, I occupied myself with looking around the vans on display, then sitting reading in their customer lounge. Brews are free to help yourself, but don't expect to use your phone online much as the signal there is rubbish and they don't do customer wifi. Very friendly bunch though.
