Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Nowhere exciting, down to near Luton and back to see the grandkids. Engine is loosening up nicely with mileage now and feels very sweet.

Couple of nights away in Stirling, staying at Witches Craig campsite (on recommendation from forum members). Not a part of the country I've been to before so looking forward to catching the bus outside in the morning and checking out the attractions.
Just about fathoms the Vivante bed making complexities too.
Called in at Fort Kinnaird so Mrs SMC could have a couple of hours at the shops seeing as we are miles away from anything like this in Northumberland.

Arrived at Ljubljana Hotel and Camping Resort in Slovenia this afternoon and managed to secure a pitch. We were initially concerned as didn't arrive until nearly 1700 hrs but all was OK in the end. We've found that sites situated with good access to cities are usually packed in and this one is no exception - the pitch is quite small but the awning gives us a bit of privacy and anyway we're only here for a couple of nights so it will do (and the sanitaries are OK!). Although we've been there before, we plan to do the sights in Ljubljana tomorrow and scoff some quality Sacha Torte whilst there. The people in the pic are our german neighbours.

The van has only been used to go to the beach and some shopping for the past 4 weeks in Spain. Wife had to go home unexpectedly over 3 weeks ago. Im now making my way home. The next 2 nights sre at Camping El Garrofer in Sitges, Spain. Bit of a trek into the town but not a bad site. This is the second time I've used it.

Nice piece of cow for dinner with some Padron peppers.

Loving the hi top there Cooky. Im a big fan of them.

Some humourless prat will complain for me saying it, but that'd make a seriously cool expedition van. Jacked up, big wheels, racks for all sorts of external adornments, a proper mountain muncher.

I’ve just had a stressful couple of hours at Costco.
I paid for a set of Michelin Crossclimate in 235/55 17 103 load rated tyres last week

I went in to have them fitted. They questioned me changing from a 215/60C.
Ultimately after 2 hrs they refunded me.

Question. Are 235/55 17 103 tyres on Devonports ok?
Yes, they were facory fit size at one point. They are the same rolling radius as the 215/60. Its even on the sticker on the door. I have 235/55 17 on my devonports for the last 20k miles and no issues.

Had the same when i had them fitted. The b*lle*d at ATS gave me lecture how the acc and radar would blow up and the whole world would end even more so as they are not commerical tyres. I politely explain above points and that the load rating was more than adequate for my van and they fitted them reluctantly and made me sign a waiver.

I'd like to complain about that comment.

I love that. People who did so badly at school that they had to become a tyre fitter thinks themselves qualified to give technical opinions.

Their expertise, such as it is (I learned in about 20 minutes how to do it one quiet afternoon in the Farce workshop) is fitting tyres, and nothing more.

Which site Qnapper ? Valencia Camperpark maybe ?

Nige - looked at them pics and couldn't place where you were ....then realised I was thinking of Camping La Garoffa which is a different place altogether :slow rofl:

We caught the bus from outside the site gates to Ljubljana and athough the weather forecast for this morning was poor, it turned out to be warm and mostly dry with about 5 minutes of light rain which was no problem for our walk around the city and its castle. It also stayed dry while we had coffees and Sacher Torte in a nice cafe (Cacao) by the river which cost an arm and a leg but was lovely. We got back to the van at about 1400 hrs and 10 minutes later it started peeing down - it's not let up since and there are big puddles everywhere (picture taken through pop top mesh window). Hope it stops before we want to go out and eat tonight.

A bit more context might be useful - there's a lot of beaches to choose from!
True. Almost every bay in the world looks like that photographed towards the right hand prong. Nevertheless my guess is Vasiliki on the 'Island' (land bridge) of Lefkas since you have gifted us a rough geographical location. I doubt if I'm right but it's a good quiz. Windsurfers etc might have a view. Anyone else care to offer a guess? :)

Pretty good shout Podge but when we drove through Vasilliki last week there were alot of windsurfers on the water, but none in your pic...so id say maybe not....im gonna stick my neck out and say its one of the Ionian Islands!! :slow rofl:
