Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

After Austria, we've now landed at Camping Polari about 3.5 Km from Rovinj in Istria. The place is packed with all the numbered pitches either occupied or reserved but they have a number of areas in the site set aside for people like us who don't like top plan too far in advance and just turn up. That said, I think we got reasonably lucky in finding a part shaded pitch not far from the sanitary facilities and the beach (probably because being a T6, we're a lot smaller than the motorhomes who might have struggled to with the trees. We've just been sitting out with a cuppa and watched loads of people going elsewhere looking for a pitch. We will probably stay here until next Monday and then move down the coast.
As an aside, we haven't seen any Brits on the road since leaving Augsburg on Monday

A day off from walking after yesterday's exertions.

First to the Sandwich Station at Lochranza (seriously good sandwiches, 5 spiced pork today 😍 )

Then to Brodick, and the Castle.

A quick raid of the bigger Co-op, then a very productive wander around Arran Outdoor (new RAB jacket, and sized up some boots), then a Lithium-Inverter Nespresso coffee on the promenade, watching the new ferry leave the harbour!

Ooh, the pressure's on :think smile bounce:
Sorry, I don't want to turn your holiday into a time and motion study. If it's worth a mention on here as you travel around its worth me noting for our visit.
The 10 day forecast isn't exactly tropical so I hope you get some good weather during your visit and that we do too. 😃

I went online to book ferry tickets for our trip planning to get a return trip from Ardrossan to Brodick. Somewhat optimistic it turns out. I could get there on the day we wanted to travel but at a time that was going to put too much pressure on and I couldn't get back even close to the preferred return date. So we've booked to go via Claonaig to Lochranza. 1 camper van, 2 adults and 1 dog - £20.50 each way.:)

You should have no trouble, as long as you don't aim for the last ferry. Not seen any yet that were full.

It's just the extra drive!

Last fuel is in Lochgilphead.
Thanks for the fuel tip. We’ll make sure we have enough fuel for our adventures when we get there. (Just checked the Petrol Prices app to see that the Esso garage there is a fair price!) The extra drive should be fine as it’ll be exploring new territory. 👍

Camping Le Picardy, just outside St Valery sur Somme, 800 Meters from the canal de Somme cycle path, from the site easy cycle into St Valery, very nice town lots of bars and restaurants, going the other way 13ish K to Abbeyville, we only got halfway there, before turning back - cycling should be a pleasure after all!

The Cob House near Martley. Met some very nice people from Dubs of Vanarchy for a coffee and a chat about vans
