Glad you had a great trip. I'm also not opting for a pop top this time on my buildJust got back from Poland after a 3-week trip — our first long journey in the T6! Only one error popped up during the whole trip (P20EE00) and it disappeared on its own.
We decided to travel along the seaside through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and into Poland — and took the same route back.
Our first beach stop in France was a letdown since dogs weren’t allowed. We ended up on a wild beach instead, which turned out way better — even tested out the gas BBQ there!
We didn’t stop at any campsites because our dogs aren’t exactly social — they bark at every other dog and sometimes even at people.
Overall, I can say our setup worked really well in terms of the battery and inverter. The bed will need to be reworked for easier access, and we still need to add hot water (just ran out of time before the trip). No need for a pop-top either — and no budget for it anyway!
Big thanks to everyone who helped with the setup.
We liked Belgium the most — free parking, dogs allowed on beaches, and cheaper diesel compared to other places (Shell V-Power was €2.10 in Germany, €1.90 in France, €1.70 in Belgium, and around €1.90 in the Netherlands. Poland was about 6 PLN — roughly the same as regular diesel if you filled up between 14:00–18:00).
Coming back to Poland after 14 years felt a bit strange. My hometown is greener now, but the 40km/h (25mph) speed limit really slows down the van. One thing to watch out for in Poland is zebra crossings — people just walk across without looking, and drivers are required to stop if someone even approaches the crossing (lights one don’t count as they got red etc). It’s a bit odd and honestly quite annoying, especially when people just scroll through their phones and step out without checking. I've been told that if the police see you not stopping, it’s an instant ticket. My city is apparently the worst for that — people just assume they own zebras

Is that your pink Yeti in the front Sassy?? We should be told....Mrs Sasquatch drove us to Stony Stratford country park. A nice walk with the dog and a spot of light lunch in the van. Lots of short days out like this until I've fully recovered.

Asked for a little beer to takeaway to the van - now that’s big and strong - not complaining.@Paul Sussex we stayed there in May. Lovely quiet place with a nice little bar. Enjoy.

Haha, yes that was us. You were the first English van we’d seen in days/weeks. We then saw loads of English cars including an ascot grey van who nearly swerved onto us as they waved@cgtmiles did you wave at us going the other way!? A starlight blue t6.1? We did Sustenpass yesterday going from Interlaken to Como. I'll post some pics when my Google photos updates and I can do it from the tablet.
