On further investigation, the Thai restaurant looks to be closed (or maybe even closed down!) but there is a defib machine their in case the uphill walk gets too much. Also the temperature went downtown 4 last night.

I backpacked the SWCP in 2017 and spent a night there. I was really looking forward to a meal in the pub, but the night I was there it was a Thai only night. Needs must I thought, but the food didn't agree with my stomach, which made for an uncomfortable night.
If anyone is into walking though, the coast path between Lynton and the Valley of Rocks is fun!
we found the easiest way to get back from lynmouth is to take the cliff railway up to lynton then walk down lyn way which ends up opposite the thai resturant

got strict now with campers going down to the lower car park. no issues with overnights in the upper but very busy.
Probably back in the 80's. We had friends with property in the area. Love the Guinness! Wife often wondered why I kept volunteering to do the shopping.
Love that drive through Glencoe to Fort William. Been doing it on off for 6 months and never tired of the route. It's supposed to be a nice all week but pop over to silver sands beach near Malaig. It's about 50 miles away and there's some amazing camp sites over looking the water if you venture out a bit more and fancy staying over.
The Harry Potter train goes over Glenfinnan viaduct about 1030/1045 and gets very busy around there at that time.
We left Lynmouth this morning for the 20 mile drive further down the coast to Mortehoe and are now pitched at Easewell Farm. We're on what they call a "Superpitch' with it's own power and water points as well as quite a bit of space to spread out if needed - not too shabby at £26 per night. There's a lot of permanent caravans around and not many of them are occupied at the moment. The one on the level above us is unoccupied and there's even a Passat parked next to it that hasn't been used for a while if the dirty on the windscreen is anything to go by. Things in the village are pretty quite in general and we were relying on the village store to buy pasties for lunch but it was closed due to a lot of work being done on the exterior so it's a damned good job that we had the foresight to buy some scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam in Lynton yesterday for just such an occasion - my Mrs has got the more diet conscious plate on the left. Please let's not reopen the clotted cream or jam first debate - there's only one answer to that one and I'll never be persuaded otherwise.

Sadly not my van, but the company Volkshall/VauxWagen to deliver a piano to Scarborough, the sun came out as we performed a nasty delivery to 'The Esplanade' overlooking the sea.
It seemed very pleasant to someone who doesn't see much sea!
