Mine has been configured (by the local dealer) to heat up first the engine and having done that then the cabin using van's regular heaters blower to warm up the cabin. Having it this way it takes first about 8 minutes (at -20C! ) to warm up engine coolant to +30 C, and then it changes over to heat the cabin (using regular heater blower). So at that temperature after 20 minutes I have a decent temperature also in the cabin .
[EDIT: Actually there is no change-over - simply the cabin blower starts when coolant is warm enough (the 8 minutes above)]
The bottom line: The Webasto parking heater is configurable: either 1) cabin only, or 2) engine and cabin. 2) engine only, 3) cabin first then engine, or 4) engine first then cabin.
I have been told that from the factory they come as (1) above. Up here the local dealer changes it to option engine and cabin unless told otherwise. Makes life a little bit easier for them, I believe
