Seems you can drop your keys in a secure box, then pick them up later from the same box ... Something you can decline to use at least except that the thing doesn't complete when you try and sign and 'Complete'.

Yeah you can add all sorts of stuff as well (like a remote key battery change for 15 quid).

I was offered the option of pre-authorising additional work of up to either £250 or £500 when I checked in my Tiguan a couple of weeks ago.

I expect if you do that they will certainly find work at least up to the pre-authorised value!

I was once dropping my car off for an MOT. I cringed when the little old lady ahead of me was handing over her keys and said, "I hope you don't find too much wrong as I've only got £400."

I wasn't present when she collected her car, but I expect the invoice was £399.99.
