Victron Orion charging too soon?

I have a Victron Orion 30amp on my 2020 T6.1

My starter battery is starting to fail, not charging above about 70 percent and has struggled during winter as it’s parked on the drive all week.

I was surprised to see at the weekend that despite my starter battery being at 50% state of charge (confirmed via Carista), the Orion was charging the leisure battery. I thought it should only kick in once the starter battery was full?
Can’t see anything obvious in the settings.

No, the Orion will charge when it sees voltage above the set level in the APP.

so when the engine is running and the alternator is pushing voltage the Orion will charge.

so what settings have you got?

what leisure battery have you got?

are you using the AUTO setting - or have a REMOTE signal?

post some pics of your setup and the APP screenshots.

You could wire in a manual switch to stop it charging the leisure battery.

Thanks all, as long as it’s functioning as normally then that’s all I was checking really.

I clearly need a new starter battery anyway.

My leisure battery is a Fogstar lithium with the Orion programmed to the relevant input and float settings etc.

I’ll look at your post in detail Delmassive as the lack of use during the week (I try and give it a run on a weekend if we’re not using it) will probably lead to the new battery doing the same eventually.
