Variation in same size tyres

Hi all, looking for people's experience of tyre brands that are physically smaller or bigger than other brands in the same size, in particular 255/40/20
I replaced my rear Uniroyal Rainsport 5 255/40/20 with Yokohama 255/40/20 which are a lot chunkier even allowing for wear.

Hey Ben - I found the same on my old van. I had Hankook Ventus ST's but they were out of stock everywhere so I swapped to Uniroyal Rainsport 5's - they almost looked stretched in comparison! Guess it's just down to the lug design?
