Tyres For 20inch Alloys

I have finally decided which alloys Im buying but its the tyres now which I am contemplating.
I have a T6 Kombi Highline T30 not lowered. My main emphasis is on ride quality and low noise.

My local tyre fitters are offering me Davanti DX680. There are 69db noise rating. Im interested in fitting the 255/45/20 101 rated rather than the 275/40/20 106 rated just to give me a little more side wall rubber. I fully understand the speedo error but willing to sacrifice. Any feedback regarding these sizes would be much appreciated. ???

The alloy wheel suppliers are offering Aotelli P607 which are cheap and very cheerfull but I am willing to spend a touch more to hopefully acheive better ride quality and lower noise

255/45 is a very big tyre for a 20" wheel.
It's the same size as VW fits to an 18" wheel - which means that your new setup will be 2" bigger in diameter.

Don't buy the cheapest tyres available - buy the best tyres you can afford. And make sure you have the correct load rating for your vehicle

255/45 gives you side wall of 114.75mm

275/40 gives you a side wall of 110mm

I'm not entirely sure an additional 4.75mm will give any noticeable improvement in ride quality and reduced noise.

I run 275/40R20...they work for me!

I like the Davanti warranty, get an irreparable puncture and they will rebate the value based on remaining tread when you buy it’s replacement.
