The dreaded crankshaft oil seal leak

So,my 2.0tdi van has been in the garage today,new timing belt,water pump and tensioner,all being changed due to the crankshaft seal leaking and contaminating the belt, so the garage rang me up to tell me the vans done! But it's still leaking due to the face on the crankshaft being worn so the seal is passing oil,the vans done 146k miles,has anybody else had this or am I being had over?

Crankshaft seal no 2 has gone.

I have to say it’s not a common thing tbh unless you’ve had engine issues before as in water in oil, low oil engine running, cheap oil or oil pump problems The engine has had oil changes before they're due. I never thrash from cold. I bought new so i had the history. Never abused.

are they saying that they have fitted a new Crank oil seal, as well as TB & WP.

but the new COS is leaking?

can you ask them for proof/pic/vid/more info?

are they saying a steel shaft has been worn away but a rubber seal?

Yes mate,all new parts fitted,I've got all the old bits! I can't get my head around the fact that a viton? Seal has worn away a metal shaft!
