A one stop VW Transporter forum. That makes more sense to me. The only place a Transporter owner, or aspiring owner, will ever need to visit.

You could even simplify it to just T Forum. That way people can just peel off the 6 from their sticker in order to conform.

The name would just be ideally joinining the brother communities of Trans-porter and Trans-it Fans!
The trouble with not letting the people with the ford-based vans have their own section is that some members here will sooner or later move on from a real transporter to a Ford one, and they would then naturally seek out a forum to suit their new vans, Consequently much knowledge and experience would be lost from this forum quicker than it would be if we allow them a space here and encourage them to stay.
I disagree. How long has the Ford been out now. There is only 1 person though about a dedicated section for it.
Plus the knowledge would be ford based and totally different to what is on this forum.
Things move on. Otherwise we would still all be on a “T1” forum.
A sub section makes sense to me. As others have said we could put it with the crafter corner lot as a beta testing area. If it takes off then start up the T7 forum and they can migrate. To me it makes no sense to mix it all up in one and change name to accomodate. It's gonna get frustrating for the haters, the purists and the stubborn and people like me (the chassis fan). It will also get frustrating for vw/ford van owners as their posts will either fill up the unanswered threads section or their post threads will end up filled with the above. I think we need to accept that the forum's magic formula is chassis specific.
I know i won't have a T6 forever. I'll likely level up to a crafter or similar - and I will regret selling my T6... I was fond of T4's, I really liked the stance and style of the T5's and T5.1s and the T6's have messed my life up

The VW/Ford van... it's just a van, and good luck to the owners and I'd be intrigued as to how they are modded etc. But only as intrigued as I'd be to see a buzz modified, or an actual T7 (multivan).
