can this be done also using media mdf? I have discovery media and would like to mirror it on the dash - is this possible?

Buying from AE does not help me help you, I deal with many users who I 'inspired' to purchase from elsewhere, but I am putting my full time into supporting and bettering the experience of using these units and really appreciate the support the community brings by purchasing through me. That plus.. I don't know whether you bought the right thing, old stock, correct firmware, I offer a 2-year UK warranty (with me and from my stock). You get this from FedEx a few months later for a single unit of tax and handling! Outrageous..

Like most things, people often dont talk about things when they are happy, but are vocal if something is not quite right. Personally, whilst I've seen a few bugs, the positives far outweigh the negatives. Once its set up and your over the honeymoon period of button pressing, it really just sits...
I didn't receive any form of bill for import tax after I bought my unit from Ali Express. I paid around £400 for the unit and fitted it myself.
I'm not aware of anyone else recieveing a bill for import tax either.
This is the original virtual dash thread, started 2 months prior to your promotional buisness thread, by enthusiasts who were happy do do it themselves.
There are pictures and explanations in this thread for people who are happy to spend the (currently £425) money on Ali Express and install their own digital dash in the sub 2 hrs it takes.
To suggest this thread is 'put to rest' or 'combined' with your own promotional buisness thread takes away from the whole point of the free sharing of information on a forum.

There are several different units available on AliExpress, which unit are people using? I have a start line with no multifunction steering controls, I believe some come with a remote. Would anyone be willing to post some links to tried and tested u it’s please? I don’t want to pay the circa £700 for a uk seller (no offence uk sellers!) to sell me an AliExpress unit so any help appreciated!

To be fair, while its a fair chunk the UK seller will fit it, warranty it with backup from UK held stock, set it up, help out with software updates, etc. For someone like me who has the IT skills of a JLR computer security technician its money well spent.

6.1 has access to the speed alert via the HU. Note for 6.1 guys: Definitely worth going into the head unit vehicle>settings>Instruments, and turn off all the MFD options prior to installing aftermarket DigiDash. It just means the MFD has nothing to play with. I would especially advice doing this if you are switching to a new DigiDash and Head Unit as I regularly do for customers. And don't forget the obligatory SOS tax, do not pass go, pay £200!I didn't have to on my T6.1...
Not a bad idea, set it max, then turn of off in MFD menu. Also max out winter tyres and do the same. I have done some pretty extensive videos on my YouTube site on the subject.I didn't have to on my T6.1...
For reference, the latest firmware now spams the OEM board with a constantly reciprocating visual state change sport<>comfort... Why would you.. well.. it's their way of creating a state change meaning It can't detect menu changes that *could* have otherwise accidentally initiated speed alert or winter tyres inadvertently.
It could be argued that if you have speed alert and you simply interrupt starter battery for a short moment, so long as you have the latest firmware via the OTA update. Then you can't get it back again.
Can't fault it and seems to work perfectly, it might have made the Ghost 2 input timing a bit more crucial though, but I'm still looking into that as it is more likely my inclusion of the inline start stop logger, since start stop is a registered press. Which if you put the two things together shockingly common to find an odd number being the decode. They really should have been able to sniff more CAN registered presses, but it's probably down to VW not activating much prior to mobilisation regarding button presses.
I'm also tapping up my ghost 2 for a visual comfort light blip so I can tell how I'm doing with activating it successfully, that said the quirkier the behaviour the more secure it is.. lol, I struggle to steal my own van most mornings!
