Hi all, help, total newbie, love my Caravelle but rear spring broken and need to replace, not so easy to get one under warranty so I’m considering upgrading suspension and lowering slightly. I have a 4motion DSG 2018 T6. I believe it’s already lowered as standard by 20mm is that right? I tow with it also so need some strong springs, also 4 kids so always full of family stuff! Any help welcome?? Oh and budget is max £1k.

There are several highly regarded trade members on here but I'm not aware of any local to you.
I used to live in your area and I spoke to @CRS Performance in Staffordshire who sorted out my suspension perfectly. Yes, it's about 100 miles away but he's a suspension specialist and a couple of hours on the motorway is well worth it because he deals with dozens of T6's every month, his experience and expertise is well known on this forum. I think he also supplies parts on a "supply only" basis and you could get your local garage to fit them if you'd rather, you'd still get the benefit of his advice.

How many miles? I had 2 broken springs on both my caravelle at around 42k miles!
They are made of butter!
If you had a coil over kit on the Caravelle it probably explains the breakages , most coil overs arent designed to carry that weight , the 2 kits we do are specifically specd to work on californias Caravelles 4 wheel drive hi spec vans

A cheap fix will be to upgrade the rear spring and mount ??

Just the OEM springs, no coilovers. Upgraded soon after with Koni dampers and can’t remember what springs bought off you :)

OK I am getting confused as you have probably realised ha HA

Can you get the bus to us or shall we try work out what we need and posting to you??

Hi, it’s factory standard. I want to lower it slightly and stop the spongy feel of the suspension/tyre combo, I’m thinking of lowering a further 20mm and then putting 18” or 19” wheels on it.

Thanks @Crazymind trying to help caused more confusion ;-). @CRS Performance please tell me about the kits you have, I’m keen to get sorted, bizarrely the broken spring is covered by 3rd party warranty but I guess they won’t stretch to a full lowering kit. Maybe I can get a contribution from them.

CRS all the way. They sent all the bits needed to replace my suspension to my trusted repair shop, 20mm lift for my 4motion Plus some anti roll extras. Awesome.

Hi there , its easy to get confused when you are talking to 20 to 30 van owners every day and getting maeesages on more IT platforms than you can shake a stick st ha ha

Lowering springs are readily available we 14 different kits to do all types of things in all types of van. they are £275.00 pounds a set . However our reputation has been built on kits incorporating better shocks ( the best shocks money can buy ) these are £795.00 a set .

A spring just makes the van look better , the shocks improve everything else

Handling , comfort , body roll , pitch and general feel which is more car like

Give us a call if you need more info , we can ship springs to you no problem if thats what you want to do

We have the largest range of kits on the market , from the super comfort kits , to low coil over kits , we would make sure we supply something that suits you ( not just what we have in stock, like most would ) The costs are all very similar but the dampers and springs vary tremendously .

Give us a call 07469785932 and we can talk you through the process
