Afternoon all

My T6 Caravelle went through its MOT yesterday with the local independent garage that its been to for several services, and urgent last minute work (brakes when warning light came on, and door mirror removed by passing motor home.)

All good experiences so far and work reasonably priced. So no complaints

He carried out a pre inspection check yesterday and found one of the rear coil springs needed replacing.

They were both replaced on the previous MOT (4000 miles ago, van had 32k miles on it at the time) by the VW main dealer.

Anyone else had a rear coil spring / springs fail so quickly on a Caravelle?

Ta in advance.

Hi Beamers, mine has the original springs from new. It's a T5.1 2010 Caravelle with 59000 miles on it. I did have 1 rear coil spring replaced at around 40000 miles due to it being snapped. 4000 miles does not sound right to me unless you carry serious weight.

I’ve just found out I have a broken rear right coil spring…T32 25k miles…went through Sep Mot fine fyi…one of those things no!?

Same here. Both my t5 and T6 needed rear coils replacement after 40k miles. Max 4 adults and 2 children on board, bags for one week of holiday and 3 bikes on the bike rack.

Rear springs fail as quickly as you can drive over a speed bump!
