T6.1 DAB radio issues.

Hi I'm new on here and recently took delivery of a new T6.1 having previously had a T5 for the past 8 years. I'm slowly wishing I'd kept it! From day 1 I've had problems with the new infotainment system, im ready to launch it through the windscreen! The DAB radio either works intermittently or not at all any ideas? TIA

Are you using any aftermarket devices that use power in the van ie USB chargers, dash cams etc ?

Yes, I have a phone charger plugged into USB and a dashcam

Unplug those and see if it improves DAB reception.

I’ve had no new items fitted, but DAB for no reason is now very hit and miss, drove 170 miles last week and it must have dropped every 5-7 miles or so, and then after a few minutes come back

Hi . I've just got a brand new T6.1 DSG.. my Dab signal goes intermittent.. when i plug a USB adapter to charge the phone.. in the 12v socket on the drivers side... Its going into the dealers tomorrow.. for them to have a look at.. along with a couple of other snags.. is there a fix... Tia

Some USB chargers generate radio noise which impacts DAB reception in any car. The only fix is to buy a USB charger that doesn’t generate radio noise. Stick with the better known names (Anker etc) rather than cheap EBay ones.

Seeing as this thread was from over a year ago, has anyone found a fix for the poor DAB reception on the 6.1?

Yes I've got a Garmin Dash cam and Nav. Plus my phone is connected via a genuine Volkswagen lead to the radio, but DAB is still pretty much unusable.

Same here, I gave up and use my Apple car play and Tunein app.
