T5.1 excessive oil consumption

Morning V Dubbers, I’m seeking some advice please and I’ve checked the forum, but most relates to BiTdi.
I’ve a 1.9 140 caravelle with DSG box. I had it serviced with the MOT in March and just checked the oil and it’s bone dry And I mean bone dry.
Someone suggested changing the oil cap to make a better seal, but I’m looking at options of what it could be. There’s no evidence to suggest head gasket, water is clean as is the oil (no cream),
Is this a known problem?

If its a 5.1 then its a 2ltr .
Any leaks? , hole in the intercooler ? Knackered turbo ? , was the correct amount put in ?

No obvious leaks, no oil in the skid pan underneath. No obvious oil anywhere, which is why I’m bewildered

Top it up and watch it like a hawk over the next few trips to get a feel for what's happening.

Did you check the oil level after the service? I bought a used van with a VW service package, much to my dismay I used up the paid in advance services, the ‘mechanic’ seemed to struggle with oil levels, twice overfilled above the top hatch.
How much oil did you add and over what mileage?
