Hi all,

What sort of price should I be expecting for replacing the Dual Mass Flywheel to be changed? Its a DSG auto gearbox so not sure if this make it more expensive?

Recently bought this van and a bit worried its going to bankrupt me!

Thanks in advance

DMF just replaced by an independent for £1000- parts and labour warranted, LWB 204 DGS Kombi, juddering at low revs for the last year which I thought was just the DSG gearbox and hoped it didn't need sorted- I had the oil replaced twice on time but no chattering sound, chattering in the last month, replaced and low revs performance is night and day! If I'd realised sooner I'd have had it done sooner.... :)
Where you take it will be the biggest influence on cost, avoid VW main dealers IMO and find a VW independent or a specialist clutch / gearbox garage.

Flywheel on my 140 DSG was around £300 - 320 for the part plus fitting, I wouldn’t expect much change from a grand but depends if you go dealer or Indy

Ok, so I’m in Northern Ireland which won’t be that helpful to many people but if you are here I used Walsh Motors Belfast- a quick Google will find them. Full VAG diagnostic facilities, only work on VW Audi group motors, easy to pay and I have found trustworthy over the last 10+ years.

Hi, I'm being quoted about £1200-1400 for clutch and DMFW from garages, not VW. Do you guys usually use normal car garages, or is there some place where light commercial vehicles usually go that's different from cars? Thanks
