Swamper side carriage

Good evening, fellow owners,

I'm after something quite specific and was hoping someone here may have done this before and could point me in the right direction, rather than the German website I found myself on, trying to decipher the language.

I really like the side carriage look, with the sand boards/jerry cans/water can. I've seen a fair few designs, but the ideal one would be the molle-style board, which I can hook/bolt things into.

Is it as simple as just buying some airline rail and jamming that into the side of my van and then finding something that will slide down it to hold my stuff?

(Image attached is not my van, but rather an inspiration)

Appreciate any help, Thanks

There are options to buy this kit but it’s £££.
There is a German guy on Etsy that makes molle boards etc for VW trasporters, same as in the photo, it’s attached onto a VW California awning rail at the top, two big rubber magnets at the bottom, so you can slide along rail to position, or fit two, other people just bolt airline track to the bodywork, but then it’s permanent.
Personally I would fit an awning rail and use the magnetic type molle board, you can always use the awning rail for an awning at a later point if needed.
If you buy from Germany you will probably have to pay import tax.

Awesome, appreciate the reply. Do you happen to have a link for said German guy on Etsy, or is it just a case of digging into it and seeing if I can find him?

I like your idea of the non-permanent solution, so I'll probably give that a go.
