Starlink

Last week we camped for 4 nights at a van park to be nearby our son, his partner and their newborn (premy) daughter. In between doing grandee duties, I did some work using the Starlink. One day was 6 hours of teams meetings and another night was the state of origin game 2 (Queensland won making it 1 all). Starlink mini was just attached to our van roof pointing vaguely towards the south. Full speed service (210 download) and not a single drop out. Our EcoFlow river 2 runs it for about 6 hours although I had access to site power for my laptop. My first taste of being a grey grandee digital nomad (GGDM)!

You'll be needing that extra 230Ah!
Just slip me the password at Camperjam next year and you can have a whole lemon drizzle cake to yourself!

At the end of the day Starlink can do what they want with customers and they/he will only demand more money. We have used ours all over EU without problems and its still cheaper than buying a data sim card in each country we visit for now. If amazom sort out their new system we might end up with a bidding war, which will be good for us I hope.

I've googled it without success so can anyone tell us what 'low-speed data' actually means (ie. how slow is slow in musk speak?).

So slow slow - that said, I guess it wouldn't make any commercial sense for it to be quicker!
