Permanent 12V DC install for Starlink Mini

Apologies if there's already a thread on this, I checked this one but can't find what I'm after (unless I missed it). Anyway...

I’ve got a Starlink Mini that I currently just stick on the roof with a magnetic mount and run the (700000ft long) stock cable through the window into a 3-pin plug. It works, but the cable is chunky and it’s a bit of a faff. I’m looking to do a permanent, tidy install on my T6 and run the Starlink directly from my leisure battery (290Ah Fogstar lithium, 185W solar), so no inverter or 230V plug involved. The plan is:

Battery → Fuse → Switch → DC-DC boost converter → cable through waterproof roof gland → Starlink Mini mounted on roof. I'm looking at something like this for the DC-DC boost convertor but the cable looks a bit short

Has anyone done a similar and does it work well?
What products did you use?
Is there any issues with voltage drop or boot loops?
If you were doing it again would you do anything differently?

Would really appreciate any advice :)

This my setup.

Much better I think on Amazon: Acegoo 12V Power Adapter for Starlink Mini, 12V to 24V Booster Converter to Mini Power SL Chainring,

Unused this.....

Cut the 12v plug off and hard wired it to a fuse on the LB.

Thanks John, £23.90 just spent on one of those Acegoo 12v Starlink mini adapters! I'm hoping a 6ft 12v cable run won't cause any issues, if it will I'll mount it somewhere else!

Well my cable is 15feet/5 metres and I have no problem. I would advise you to get one of these as has tripod mount hole so can mount on bonnet or on back door as per my post above with a Mag Mount.

Drive Wayne, Not sure how you are using the Starlink, but I switch of inbuilt router and connect it to a GL.Net router that allows me to use a UK VPN and everything else in Campervan like cameras etc. This then allows me UK TV channels BBC,ITV etc and Plex (my server) whilst out and about on a Firestick....... I use Surfshark without problems across EU. Enjoy.

I bought it predominantly for use at the bigger van festivals in the UK where there is no available wifi whatsoever. We don't have time to watch TV when there is serious drinking and socialising to be done! I just want it to be available when necessary and work perfectly... Thanks for your help John.

We also use the Starlink for the Blink Camera system I have fitted ( 4 Cameras fitted inside van. 3 cover front back and sliding door, 1 covers the inside for wife to check on the cat!!! that travels with us) I 3D printed window mounts for the camera it stick to which cannot be seen from the outside. When we leave the van for the day it gives us peace of mind and security and cost next to nothing data wise.

I was toying with putting a spare Ring doorbell in the van, wifey wasn't happy about that. Putting 4 cameras in she would think I was up to no good, it could fund some of my purchases though?!!

There are a few here in Spain have the Ring Door system fitted, but I just did not like the fact it was on view all the time. The best thing I have fitted (you may what to look at it is the Bear-Lock that we travelled to UK to have fitted. Great bit of security
