Interesting for me with my particular degree, that Amazon have gone for a slightly higher orbit than Starlink. That means theyre in sight for longer with less handover required between birds.
Also the satellites themselves are larger with greater capacity. Upshot is theyll ultimately need less of them, less overall cost to build and launch to meet a comparable traffic volume, which may possibly translate to lower end user cost (or greater Jeff Bezos profit.)
I expect SpaceX's choice of architecture was heavily influenced by the high mission rate and relatively low cost of Falcon 9 and, to a lesser extent, Falcon Heavy.

Hi all, new member, joined today after reading this thread a couple of nights ago, no campervan but have found @Dellmassive info and others info on the starlink very useful, to the point that I went out and bought the mini today. So just a Hi and thank you for now.
Welcome to the club, what's your use case she the mini? You going to be traveling around? Or just using it at home?
Sorry for the late reply, been away working, which was the point of buying the mini, I work away from home mostly, I was hoping to use it for internet and gaming on my laptop, unfortunately I stay in Travelodge mostly, not my choice, I was on the 1st floor so had to try it looking through the window, no joy, I'll ask for a ground floor room next week and stick outside the window possibly ? Has anyone had any luck using the mini inside? T.I.A.

Starlink Terms of Service
- Service Commitment. By selecting a service commitment and completing your Order, you agree to continuously subscribe to the Services specified in your Order for a minimum of 12-months (“Service Commitment”). The 12-month period begins at the Payment Due Date and ends 12-months after (“Commitment Period”).
- Change Fee. During the Commitment Period, if you take any action to change the Services specified in the Order, a 299 GBP change fee will be immediately applied to your current payment method (“Change Fee”). Your actions that change the Services include but are not limited to cancelling a service plan, changing to a different service plan, changing your service address, and transferring the Services or Kit to another person. The Change Fee will also be applied if, during the Commitment Period, you fail to pay any fee for Services by the due date specified on the invoice, or Starlink terminates this Agreement for a breach of your obligations under this Agreement. The Change Fee will be reduced by an equal amount each month over the Commitment Period. For example, the Change Fee in any given month is equal to the Change Fee multiplied by the number of months remaining in the Commitment Period divided by 12.

Is that not for the standard SL for domestic installs?
I don't think that applies to the ROAM packages?.
I'm under the impression that you can still change from standby to whatever each month, .. . But the pause is now classed as cancel. So maybe in the back ground they saying we on a 12m, but paying 4.50, or 50, or cancel and end.
