STARLINK (Satellite Internet and WIFI) -- How I Done It --

Space WIFI is doing very well in France.

..

It was £7 odd to upgrade the package to 50Gb for the remaining time in the month. (28th is roll over day)

Speed is good

And the SL works fine from the dash, (non heated). And with the plain black screen wrap on.

Really pleased/surprised/amazed it works with the screen wrap on! Excellent!

Another France Location.

Speed and availability is good.

No problems with the screen wrap.

No problems driving around with the dish on the dash.

But we can confirm it definitely doesn't work through the poptop+bed board.

One thing to watch out for....... !!!

I done the upgrade to 50Gb ROAM from standby..... Which was great as they only charged £7 for the remainder of the previous month.

BUT..... My rollover day is today.

So this morning I went to change back to STANDBY, ....... Nope too late !!!!

They have already rolled over my package and set me up for another month of roam 50.

And even though I swapped to the standby first thing this morning, they have scheduled it for next month... 28th Nov.

So looks like I'm a fully paid up member of the Roam50 club for a month.

The point being.... That if you want to play the swapsy game. You need to swap back the day before your rollover day.....well that's what I'll try next time.

I did wonder how that would work!
I want to change my plan over to standby for next month, before I have £50 taken from my clutches!
Not sure I can while still in my first monthly billing cycle, but I'll have a go! Mine renews on the 8th of the month.
Very impressed with the service and speeds, just don't want to pay for it before I need it. #northernatheart

Yay! From my next billing cycle, 8th November, I have managed to switch to the £4.50 a month standby plan, I've used 28gb out of 50 just messing about! Speed tests alone can use 1gb, I bet I've done 27 of them! Anyway, all sorted now until springtime!

Lol....yes as we found out before..

End user speed tests come out of your data pack ....

But software updates etc are included.

The Starlink Juggernaut streams in & now partnering with UK BB companies.

Do you have a link to that story Lee ?
@Dellmassive
Sure...

.

"The new service is currently expected to be available to customers in the “latter half of 2026” and we assume BT / EE must be planning to do something a bit different from merely reselling the same product that consumers can already buy, today, directly from Starlink itself. The move comes shortly after O2 announced that they’d also be harnessing Starlink, albeit to connect their roaming mobile users via Direct to Cell (here)."
