STARLINK (Satellite Internet and WIFI) -- How I Done It --

The Mini has the router built into the dish which means most users would need to be near the dish. The bigger dish allows you to bypass the supplied router and put a better one in to address wifi coverage issues
Sorry, l should have put the first gen mini.

First gen mini to 2025 mini is probably not worth the upgrade

Nice upgrade but probably not worth it if you have the first gen already. Is that the agreed take?
Yeh, that's my thinking.

Started seeing the 2025 mini accessories for sale and wondered what it was about.

This is my solution for 24/7 Starlink whilst traveling into Europe shortly. .

im running this 12v socket feed from the LB to the engine bay , i have a LB +12v by the center console, so i can tap into that . .

This weather proof fused 14awg/20A 12v feed, will stay under the bonnet next to the starter battery.

the plan is,

to plug in the 12v SL power supply, which will be tucked in next to the starter battery . . .

Then use the OEM power cable, or even get a shorter version of power link cable.

then have the MAGMOUNT on the front bonnet . .

this bracket is all metal and the magnets are well strong.

I've been testing the different locations for the SL mini over the last few campouts,

and the bonet has been the best location if it cant be on the floor. . . . . . and that magmount is very good.

the compromise is the lack of adjustment to get the dish lined up for the best signal.

thats why I've added the mini tripod mount - as and when i can, ie camping . . . . i can mount of the mini tripod to get best signal.

but when on the move, or traveling about . . . the bonnet mount is working well.

why cant i stick it to the roof?

I've got a fibreglass pop-top,

and . . . . . . . .

well, one huge solar panel already stuck to it. . .

My Starlink journey continues… now have Starlink permanently fixed in horizontal to the Cali roof rails (using an Aussie built connecting bracket), powered by an EcoFlow delta 3 plus battery which is about to be topped up by a 200w roof mounted solar panel. Idea is that we can use our phone anywhere in Australia (especially off grid camping mode) mainly for health related reasons for both us and our family.

My T6 must be a smaller version, when I go away it’s full with stuff I really need.
Lebara sim covers me and it’s so cheap.

Let see those pics......

:tongue bounce:

Don't use it on a windy day. It will blow away. Ask me how I know.
I found a quick hack to stop the tripod blowing away....

I just smashed in 3* storm pegs to hold down the tripod legs...seems good so far.
