Van has been squeaking / chirping for last couple of months, gradually getting louder. It's most noticeable when idling but I think it's still there when driving just drowned out by engine noise.
My local garage changed the auxiliary belt but it hasn't made any difference. After a lot of head scratching they *think* it's something to do with the AC compressor but they don't seem very sure and quoted £600 to replace. The noise happens regardless of whether my heating/AC/cabin fan are on or off. Has anyone else been in this situation and solved it before I drop £600 on a fix which may not work?
