Spray Cork

I have recently come across the possibility of a sprayed cork lining for the interior of camper vans, something I have never heard of before, and something that seems to have a number of benefits. As an example, this is just one of a number of businesses offering that service: Corked Campers.

Does anyone have any experience of this technique?

Looks interesting. Wonder how insulating it really is in very cold conditions?

A floating van could be fun after an external spray. Save on ferries.

People are now plastering their walls with cork, which i imagine is the same type of thing (but with skim on top). It has thermal properties and also fire if i remember. Not looked too much into it.

Surprisingly good at sound proofing too.

I’d just be curious as to the adhesive in the mix. It may be something that off-gases for a very long time and may not be great for your health in such a small and relatively air tight space.

Two coats, or three at most, will still be fairly thin, leaving plenty of space for traditional insulation as well. But using the cork may do away for the need for those anti-drum Dodo mat sheets while also providing a vapour barrier? It could also cover those parts that generally don’t get covered in anything (such as around the tailgate window etc.) providing a bit more insulation.
