Anyone sound deadened their barn doors?


Did you remove all the lock mechanism?

Lock is fairly easy to remove. 2 bolts 2 nuts and then unclip one of the bars is enough to get in behind it. Or you can disconnect the cable for the top lock and remove it completely.
Take pics before you remove the clips.

you need a spline bit set, not torx....vw love these, so well worth getting a set

something like this Halfords Advanced 11 Piece Spline Bit Set | Halfords UK

plenty of other options on amazon/ebay if you can wait for the delivery Amazon.co.uk : spline bit set

A torx bit will also loosen those spline bolts.

Soooo, er, how DO you remove a screw with a damaged head?!

Sorry to hijack this thread (if you'll excuse the screw related pun) but I've just done the same trying to remove the rear locking mechanism on the sliding door.
Guessing my only option now is to drill out...?

Can anybody confirm the size of the screw so I can order more?

So I damaged the head on one, and gave up.. waited to Amazon to deliver the proper tools.. I just had to leave the damage bolt and bend the metal to get the dodo stuff in
