^^^^ exactly where I put my rear-view camera, I presume a reversing camera would be the same ( I don't know how the reversing switch would work with one of them). Just picked up the ignition live power from the rear wiper for mine. A rear-view camera is better for keeping an eye on a small trailer that hides below the level of the windows.
Mine is only manufacturer original equipment fit reversing over the numberplate. It often gets splattered with spray and mud and that is often when it is needed and at night on a dark wet narrow lanes. I deliberate on acquiring multiple cameras and multiple screens or segmented screens but with cameras on at all times when driving. Rear view, side mirror view and perhaps near side front facing for nasty narrow hedge lined bends that sort of thing. Unfortunately I am the worlds greatest procrastinator and age has made that worse and so has ones abilities diminished or confidence perhaps.
