[Solved] How to fix lower cubby handle (bottle holder) - comfort dash?

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to fix the handle mechanism to open the lower cubby on a comfort dash please?

I was threading a cable (solar panel on dashboard) to cigarette lighter through this panel and somehow the bloody lever mechanism popped out.

Or failing that, how do I remove the whole cubby so that I see what's going on with the lever mech without getting into a complicated yoga position?

Got it!

This video shows better than I can explain how to remove the "bottle holder". You can skip to 17 minutes 15 seconds to see the relevant section.

Then it is a bit easier to work out how to re-install the lever mech but certainly involves swearing, it is very fiddly...

Not sure if the attached photo is much help, but you need to pop the spring onto the right hand side spindle, slide that spindle into the hole and push fit the left hand spindle into the snap fitting on the other side.
