Solar: using external EHU as connector

Here's a question. Possibly a daft one.

Is it possible to make use of the exterior EHU socket when using an mobile solar panel?

Does anyone make an adaptor?

I would prefer this to messing about with crocodile clips.

In a word, No.

The EHU is for 240v AC mains supply, and solar panel is much lower DC supply voltage.

No, you can’t mix 240v AC and 12v DC.

You can fit one of the 50amp Anderson connectors somewhere handy under the seat or under the bonnet depends which battery you want to charge.

If you're not talking loads of current (and from croc clips doesn't sound like it) you could just replace the croc clips with a 12v plug and plug into one of the 12v cigarette lighter type sockets. Again pick which one depending on which battery you are charging. Normally good for 8 amps so that's just about 100w panel, especially as they will rarely achieve peak output.
