Hi all,

Recently had an issue with my Dpf getting blocked so had to put a new one on!!! Expensive weekend that one was all been fine till last week so no issues for say 10 weeks, now all of sudden, lights want to flash up on the dashboard, the vans smoking its t**s off and power comes and goes as it pleases!! Garage that serviced my van did the work, just had a full service again today and they say the lights have gone off but they don’t know what the problem is, there telling me to take it to a vw specialist, so does anyone know anyone in the Wyre area or so ( live near Garstang) who knows about smoking Vws and dpf’s etc

Before the DPF was renewed did the garage diagnose the cause of the blockage?
1. High mileage - full of ash.
2. Some other issue, possibly related to burning oil, re-generations, engine dumping oil into the exhaust?

If they haven’t found a root cause for the DPF blockage and simply replaced it it’s highly likely to repeat the process.

Aya mate, sorry for late reply,
No they didn’t give me any answers! we obviously went down the route of unblocking but had no joy with that ( they tell me 10/12 times a firm who specialises in exhausts) tried to do it so I had to replace. Up until this point van has been fine ( bought it in Jan 2020) first issues in Jan 2023, and now having this trouble. yeah noticed having to top engine oil up ( tells me low on oil) so that’s becoming an issue and the mileage is only 77,000
I do 60 mile a day or more round trips to work a day and big runs to Cornwall in school holidays ( not every school holiday) so it has good runs out every now and then

Got a fault codes to go on?
Aya mate sorry for late reply, are you asking which fault codes? it started with flashing coil spring, then
Got an fault codes to go on?
then the exhaust ones have been coming and going, been back to the garage and they have just put it in the computer and got rid of the lights but they come back when they want, the main one is the spring. They just tell me they don’t know so need to get a be specialist to diagnose
